Packing instructions

1. PURPOSE AND SCOPE

This supplier's manual is binding for all deliveries to the customer's company. By following it, a significant contribution can be made to the quality of deliveries.
The generally applicable arrangements and provisions that apply to internal and external suppliers as a guide for packaging and delivery are illustrated.
Failure to comply with the packaging instructions may be considered a violation of the quality requirements of Prestar, s.r.o.

The scope of validity applies to all suppliers and subcontractors of Prestar, s.r.o. Specially made packaging and delivery agreements remain unaffected. Changes based on technological progress are subject to change.

ATTENTION! The instructions are also valid for internal suppliers of Prestar, s.r.o., i.e. for example for:
- Warehouse as an internal supplier for production
- 3D measurement and input quality control as an internal supplier for warehouse and production
- Assembly as internal supplier for logistics (preparation of parts for cooperation)

2. BACKGROUND

It is the responsibility of both internal and external suppliers to ensure that all products supplied are properly and adequately preserved, protected, packaged and labelled to ensure that they reach their destination safely.

Failure to comply with the packing instructions may result in the supplier being required to take corrective action. In addition, the Supplier may be held liable for any additional costs incurred in connection with the repackaging, handling or disposal of the waste, as well as for damage to quality resulting from inadequate or contaminated packaging.

3. PACKAGING REQUIREMENTS

The choice of packaging method is governed by the characteristics of the product, the protection requirements, the type of transport and the supplier's facts.

In addition to the choice of packaging, the supplier must ensure that the supply meets the following requirements:

- The parts must be delivered free of impurities and quality.

- The transport packaging should ensure safe and easy handling during unloading as well as during transport by means of land transport.

- Creating efficient cost units and efficient use of capacity.

- Sufficient transport security.

- Safe and easy handling when removing parts from packaging.

- Proper marking (see SPECIAL MARKING POINT). Each item supplied must be marked. Observe the instructions on the Obligation to mark.

- One product (parts of one number) per unit pack. If a part consists of several individual parts, these must be marked so that they can be matched. For multiple pre-assembled assemblies, the loose individual parts (screws, springs, plugs, etc.) of each assembly must be attached separately (e.g. attach the bag to the individual assembly).

- If a mixed bundle cannot be avoided, the parts must be clearly separated and organised in a meaningful way.

- If damage can occur through crushing or friction, baffles must be used.

- Sensitive parts must be properly padded.

- The packaging material must not affect the cleanliness and quality of the parts.

- Easily corroded parts should be packaged in a dry, non-corrosive environment for the duration of transport and storage (at least 3 months). The type of anti-corrosive material used is governed by the sensitivity of the material to be packaged, the transport conditions, the transport time and the storage conditions (indoor/outdoor).

- Packages that are lifted by hand should be no heavier than 20 kg. Packages weighing more than 20 kg should always be delivered on pallets.

- The parts must be arranged within the load carrier so that the weight is evenly distributed. The same applies to the positioning of the individual packaging units on the load carrier. If this is not possible in justified and agreed cases, this must be clearly marked (note the shifting of the centre of gravity).

- The size of the load carrier should match the goods being packed. For protruding parts, proper and sufficient impact protection should be ensured.

- All hollow spaces must be filled so that the parts cannot collapse during transport and handling. This does not apply to hopper material such as bolts, nuts, etc.

- If cushioning material is used, care should be taken to ensure that it is easily and quickly removed and as suitable for recycling as possible. Loose filling material, packaging scraps, shredder material, newsprint, wood wool, etc. should be avoided as far as possible.

- Coated parts must be wrapped in scratch-resistant packaging. Special care should be taken when handling ground parts. Sanded parts must not be stacked on top of each other and generally

must be handled in such a way as to avoid any damage to the surface.

4. TAGGED WITH

Each item must be labelled. Please observe the instructions on the Obligation to mark.

Without exception, all parts must be delivered properly marked for unambiguous identification.

Marking requirements:

It must be possible to determine the following information from each part:

- Material number

- Order number and order item

- If necessary, the claim number

- Number of pieces

- If it is not technically or economically practical (e.g. screws) to label each individual part, the parts must be packed in an adequate packaging box, on which the above information must be reinserted.

- A typewritten description (label) is recommended. The description should be black on a white background for maximum contrast.

- The marking must not affect the cleanliness and quality of the parts. Particular care must be taken to ensure that any markings/labels can be removed without residue.

- The marking should be as easily visible as possible at any time and in any position. For large parts, it is recommended that a second marking of the same type be attached.

5. DELIVERY DOCUMENTS

The delivery documents as well as the accompanying documents (e.g. test reports, proof of origin, etc.) are to be handed over to the warehouse staff in a clean form.

In the case of special deliveries (complaints, defect rectification, quick changes, etc.), this must be communicated separately to the warehouse staff. Special documents must be attached (quick change).

6. DELIVERY

Suppliers are asked to sign in at the counter of the warehouse area.

When delivering by car/truck, the parking space markings in the areas in front of the warehouse must be respected. Within the Prestar, Ltd. premises, pacing and extra attention to the movement of persons apply. Care is to be taken to deliver by suitable and easily unloadable transport vehicles.

Delivery times must be respected:

Monday to Friday: 06:00 h - 14:00 h

For exceptions, rush deliveries (e.g. return deliveries, claims, etc.) that are to be delivered outside of the delivery times, the appropriate Purchasing Manager must be contacted.

The release of the provided parts is only possible at the counter of the stock area.

7. SUMMARY

All hollow spaces must be filled so that the parts cannot collapse during transport and handling.

Packages that are lifted manually should not be heavier than ≥ 20 kg. Packages weighing more than 20 kg should be delivered on pallets.

The load carrier should be packed so that the weight is evenly distributed over the area. If this is not possible, this must be clearly marked (beware of shifting the centre of gravity).

The parts must be arranged within the load carrier so that the weight is evenly distributed. The same applies to the positioning of the individual packaging units on the load carrier. Sensitive parts must be properly padded.

The capacity of the load carrier must be optimally utilised according to an expedient assessment. Care must be taken to select an appropriate load carrier.

When packing heavy or very large parts into wooden crates, formwork, shipping tools or pallets, ensure that the liners are shaped to properly secure the load against collapsing.

Sufficient transport security is necessary. Care must be taken to protect the edges with suitable padding material. Cylindrical parts should be supported by bolted edges where appropriate.

If it is not technically or economically practical (e.g. screws) to label each individual part, the parts must be packed in an adequate packaging box.

The parts must be delivered free of impurities and quality. Packaging material must not affect the cleanliness and quality of the parts.

If a mixed bundle cannot be avoided, the parts must be clearly identified and organised in a meaningful way.

If cushioning material is used, care should be taken to ensure that it is easily and quickly removed and as suitable for recycling as possible. Loose fill material, baling scraps, shredder material, newsprint, wood wool etc. should be avoided as far as possible.

The size of the load carrier should match the goods being packed. For protruding parts, proper and sufficient impact protection should be ensured.

If crushing or friction can cause damage, bulkheads/separating material must be used. Coated parts generally need to be wrapped scratch resistant.
