Description of the device

Prestar’s mill roll gripping tongs are designed for the safe and precise handling of heavy mill rolls in steel plants and rolling mills. These custom-made roll tongs ensure secure lifting and transport without damaging the roll surface, supporting optimal maintenance and process reliability.

Technical parameters of the machine

  • Mechanical self-locking side grip of rolls including bearing housings (option 1)
  • Electric drive for gripping the roll ends with clamping signalization, operating in tandem with a two-roll handling assembly (option 2)

Other equipment of the machine

  • Plastic jaw lining to prevent damage to the cylinder surface

  • Design for handling hot cylinders up to 500 °C

  • Pliers suspension adapted to operational requirements
